PCP3 has a few bugs in it, unfortunately, because nobody used it when I finished it :( so I didn't bother fixing them. Of course, if you want to use it and want these bugs fixed, I will fix them. Just contact me here.
The bugs known are listed below:
Creating a User
This is pretty simple. On the main log on dialog, click 'New PCP3 User' and a new dialog will open. Type in your username, then your password (twice for confirmation), and then press 'Accept'. PCP3 will create your user file and encrypt your password in it. Your user file is stored in the PCP3 install directory and will hold your key, and any others you import.
Deleting a User
On the main log in dialog click 'Delete PCP3 User' and a dialog will open. Whack in your username and password and press 'Accept'. WARNING: This action is not undoable.
Changing your Password
Log in and go to 'User Actions' then click on 'Change Password'. Type in your old password then your new password with confirmation and then click 'Change'.
Exporting your Key
You will need to export your key and give it to your friends to import for them to write you encrypted messages.
Once you are logged in with your user, go to the 'Key Actions' menu and click 'Export Key'. Name and save it where ever you like. E-mail it to your friends.
Importing a Friend's Key
For you to write messages to a friend you need to import their key.
Log in, go to 'Key Actions' and click 'Import Key'. Select their key and press 'Open'. The key will be imported.
Manipulating Keys
Log on and go to 'Key Actions' then click on 'Manipulate Keys'. A dialog will open and you can see all your imported keys. Select a key in the list and click 'Delete' to delete it.
Encoding a Message
Log in, go to 'Encryption Actions' and then click 'Encode New Message'. Type your message in the text-box (only the 97 characters on the keyboard are allowed), and then select the person you want to send it to from the 'Encode to' dropdown. Then click 'Encode and Save' and name and save the file somewhere. Then simply send the file to the person you encoded it for and they can decode the message.
Decoding a Message
Log in, go to 'Encryption Actions' and then click 'Decode Messages'. Then click 'Select File to Decode' and open the file you want to decode. It will be decoded and displayed in the text box. Clicking 'Reply' will open you a new 'Encode New Message' window to reply with.
PCP3 has its own forum. Yes it does. And you can talk on it. Yes you can. Its a good place to ask questions about stuff that the 'Help Lite' above doesn't cover. And report bugs. And stuff.
